Lisa Sherman, Director of the Stuart, IA Public Library was nominated for the American Library Association’s (ALA) I Love My Librarian Award, which honors librarians across the country for their impact in their community. While we were only able to honor ten librarians with this year’s award, we received nearly 1,300 heartfelt and inspiring nominations, and yours was among them! We’re happy to pass along the remarks from your nominator. Thank you for your outstanding contributions to the field of librarianship and for your service to your community! – Chase Ollis, ALA (American Library Association)

I Love My Librarian Award Nomination submitted by: Kim Bigsby

I would like to nominate Lisa Sherman for the ilovemylibrarian award. Lisa is an enthusiastic, dedicated and forward-thinking director of the Stuart Public Library. She is very conscientious to the needs of both the library and the community that it serves. She works hard along with her fellow staff to provide engaging and informative programming for all interests and age groups. She is consistently seeking out better ways to welcome and serve the unique needs of Stuart, as it sits between two counties of Adair and Guthrie in rural Iowa. Being on the library board, I have witnessed firsthand the remarkable growth Lisa has procured as the library director. Each month she outlines the activities of the library in detail and her excitement is contagious.  For Lisa being the library director is not just her job, it’s her passion. She is a lifelong learner and strives for excellence on a daily basis. Lisa would be an outstanding choice to receive this award and is extremely deserving of this recognition. She rocks!!
