International Travel Scholarships

The Stuart Library Foundation, through a generous donation from an anonymous donor, is able to offer International Travel Scholarships. The goal of this scholarship program is to enable young adults to travel outside of the United States as part of an effort to build knowledge about diverse global cultures, history, economics, societies, and environments. These scholarships are open to any person ages 18-25 in the West Central Valley school district.

Earlier this year the Foundation was pleased to announce the names of the recipients of the International Travel Scholarship; Landry Norton and Avery Hazen. Landry chose to travel Europe with a tour group. Her travels included London, Amsterdam, Paris, Lucerne, the Swiss Alps, the Venice region, Florence, and Rome. Avery, accompanied by her father, traveled to Greece. Avery and Landry will share their travel adventures with a presentation at the Stuart Public Library. This presentation is open to the public and is scheduled for Monday, July 31 beginning at 6:15 p.m.

Our first recipients of this scholarship were Danielle Morgan and Kyle Fairchild. Their destination choice was Peru.

The next opportunity for the International Travel Scholarship will be in September. Scholarships can include full or partial funding of necessary expenses which includes passport fees, travel expenses, room and board, and ancillary expenses. Please look for further details concerning the application process and due dates at our web site: stuartlibraryfoundation.com.
