Children’s Health Fair was held on September 12th 1-3 pm. The Health Fair was designed to bring awareness to children’s eating habits, mental health, safety, and staying physically healthy. Various community partners provided educational and learning activities on this WCV early out day. If you happened to drive by you would have seen a 16’ inflatable brain provided by Guthrie County Public Health. The library thanks the 72 people who attended the event and our community partners: Guthrie County Public Health, Guthrie County Hospital, Stuart Police Department, Stuart Family Dental, Guthrie County Extension, Amanda Nourse with children’s yoga, Crystel Corbin with Latch.
The hands-on activities with these organizations showed children how to develop healthy lifestyle habits. Some of our hands-on activities included a hand washing station, I.D.-A-File for children’s fingerprints, comparing sugar content in various foods, children’s yoga, healthy snack preparation, a toothbrush and toothpaste, nutrition for babies, and hand-outs to take home regarding what the children learned at our Health Fair.
