Toddler Time this week brings Sergeant Katie and the Books & Badges program Thursday at 10:00 am. Songs, sign language, storytelling, giveaways (books) and a craft or activity for toddlers can be expected. Stop by and check us out.
A new program, Cookbook Club began on Wednesday, September 21st from noon to 1:30p.m. We hope the result of this first meeting would be a gathering with lots of talk about cooking and recipes and how to improve them. And it’s about community, getting to know our neighbors and making new friends in a social setting. Library staff made the first meal.
Toastmasters will meet Wednesday, September 28th at noon. It is nice to see this group growing! It is open to the public.
Poetry Group is open to anyone who wants to read, discuss, write poetry, and have good time with others. Call the library for more information. “With me poetry has not been a purpose, but a passion.” – Edgar Allen Poe
Children’s Story Hour brought us Lori Cook with a favorite book of hers, Sylvester and the Magic Pebble by William Steig last Saturday. Lori also explained to the children and parents why this book was banned in Illinois and why a book might be on the banned book list.
